...But Alas, it is gone and it is grey and cold again. We played alot outside and I was able to till(by hand, crazy, I know) another bed that will be for veggies. This time Iwill try to resist putting flowers in it even though I have lots of seeds. With the exception of course of marigolds, such usefull little flowers, I knew they repelled nasty things from the tomatoes, but I also just learned they will keep nematodes out of the soil. And the squirrels don't really seam to eat them like they did in Florida. We also made a worm compost bin this was exciting for Courtney she helped with shredding paper for bedding and dumping them in the box, but She didn't help with the digging at all, which is probably better because I found alot of glass(broken soda bottles) in the ground. I wasn't even finished adding amendments to the soil when ijust had to have strawberry plants. Onions were always in the plan but, strawberries and brussel sprout(although I've heard they do better in the fall) were impulsive. Now we have four seed trays it the house that we have been watching closely and they are starting to show signs of life:marigolds, cucumbers, basil, thyme, and sunflowers.
