Courtney and Chris have been
discussing getting Courtney her own
ice skates for her birthday. But where to find them small enough at a reasonable price? Well, Saturday we check with used sporting good store right next to our regular grocery store and Courtney got an early birthday present. They only had one smaller size and it was just right so that she should be able to wear then next year and they were only $15. And they look just like
Baba's.
And we got them just in time. Some of Chris's hockey buddies from the
Bull feathers have been watching a pond all week and called Chris to come out on Sunday, they were sure that the ice was ready. When everyone is huddled inside waiting for the cold to pass, hockey players start
snooping around bodies of water.
Since I don't have skates, I assisted Courtney and was amazed at my hiking boots,
because I had decent traction and my toes stayed warm with only one pair of socks. Courtney and Chris both said their toes were frozen when they came off the ice. We had to bundle up , Sunday had a
fore casted wind chill of 8 degrees. It was lots of fun and
a little weird at first. Two pictures of the guys playing hockey actually made it on to the 11pm news.
